TREX real tape echo.. did we talk about this?

I'd rather put my efforts into a DIY project like this:


To make something like this you probably would have to invest about $80 max to make it durable/gig-worthy, and then you would have an almost unlimited supply of "cartridges" for replacement. If this T-rex machine doesn't catch on, those proprietary replacement cartridges will be discontinued, and then the whole thing is an $800 paper weight, with people charging $150 a cartridge on ebay. Yet another piece of machinery with a life span based on it's "consumable" parts.

My experience is that a pro player would probably have a Boss DD7. It's the non-pros that are most likely to pay $800 for a tape delay.  ;D
