Smallbear......nice!

So it had been months since I had ordered from Smallbear, or any place for that matter, and I recently placed two orders and they both went out the same day I placed the order.  In the past, it would always take two or three days to ship out. Not only that, they now have a ton of shipping options.

So this may be old news but it's new to me!

Steve and Smallbear have always done a great job with my orders.  Sometimes they short me a pot, sometimes I get an extra pot.  It's all good.

Need to order some of those special pixie dust switches that the new Bean boards use... Smallbear are the only link I have for them (Mouser probably have them, along with the cables used in microwave satellites and the jacks used in the first phone exchange, but I honestly don't want to trawl their filters.)

I recently had an issue with a misdelivered package (USPS fault, not small bear) and I emailed them in the evening and heard back about a replacement in 45 minutes. Now THAT's customer service! They are shipping faster than ever too. Same amount of pick errors, but I get that anywhere and somehow small bear's pick errors are always more logical and innocent than say Tayda, which can be just random and substitutive.

Smallbear has definitely stepped up their game from years past. I mostly get stuff shipped out the day after ordering but my most recent order did not go out for 3 days after. Not sure why but will chalk it up as a glitch. Not a big deal really but when you pay for expedited delivery and it doesn't ship for days then it kind of defeats the point

i have had that problem only when asking for germanium trannies, normal goes same day since this year and new page

Smallbear is awesome. I wish their shipping was cheaper but I guess its out of their control. The one thing I really truly loath about them is how their website keeps on sending reminders the moment you leave stuff too long in your shopping basket. You never had that kind of obnoxious webshop script behavior with the old site.

The other awesome thing is that you can now place a new order based on your old order. No need to put everything in again... just go to your old, saved orders and readd items directly to your cart.

Also, if you live in Brooklyn, they'll drop packages off for you same day at a local copy shop.

I've had consistently good experiences with small bear - they are my first choice. I just wish they had more of those blem 1590bb enclosures - their blem discount enclosures had better paint than some of the ones I've paid full price for elsewhere!

The site calculates it based on the weight of each item in your order, but they usually ship with flat rate boxes. If you shoot them an email after placing the order, they'll refund you the difference between what you paid and the actual cost of shipping.
