Pull-down resistors - Do I need em?

I'm working on a multi-fx schematic that is two full circuits in series. Is the pull-down resistor necessary for the second effect if the output of the first one is going straight to its input?

The pull-down resistors would only be needed to avoid pops when switching. If there is no switching involved you should be ok leaving them out.
