Finally got Hexjibber Muff Gun PCB boxed up. This is a great sounding Big Muff variant (I seem to be building a lot of them lately). This thing has a great thick sound to it and the Pre gain (LPB boot) is great for getting that nice punch and it also adds some low end to it. I tested it with my SG with burstbuckers and it was hard to put down.

Not a fan of how this paint came out. Its a metallic burnt orange but I did not I was going to get the orange peel look also. But its definitely my worst paint job lol.

I used one of Grind Customs FX 3PDT boards to try out. Great little board and I may stock up on them.

A better picture of the etch. Its hard to get the light to play nice to photograph it.

Nice one Cody! Really like the graphic on this one, glad you're pleased with the board also! :) Super neat insides too man, top work!

Wanted to ask, how many layers of clear coat do you normally do? On my last build I did around 3-4 but they still chip easily so I'm looking at trying Envirotex instead, how do you find the durability of your clear?

Cheers,
Graham

That has to be the best worst paint job ever!  8)
...and then of course I've got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left hand side...

Thanks guys. I really think I need to change my clear coat process.

This is one thing I really need to get a handle on. My current process is 3-4 coats of Rust-Oleum matte finish clear. I really like the look of the matte clear but I get tons of small bubbles when I use lacquer paint. I am trying to not pigeon hole myself to the 5 Rust-Oleum metalic colors and ventured out to hobby store grade lacquer paint. They have some great colors to choose from. I am going to buy a few other clears this weekend to give them a try and report back on my blog.I would like to give Envirotex a try but, just like anything else, its scary the first time. I would find it so nerve wracking.

Haha, thanks. I reverse etch the enclosure but the art work did not come out as clean as I would like. I should have re-drew the art work but I was being lazy.

Thanks man, I have plans to demo this and the TSM680 this week.

Looks great to me! The art reminds me a bit of a Godspeed You! Black Emperor album. I think it was "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven." Oh, those post-rock bands and their names...

That is the prettiest board on the block!  :)
I love etching. I love the idea of your graphics not being worn out or rubbed away. Cody, the envirotex would look really good on your (and Graham) etchings. I'm going to try etching and enviro for my next build. I've done the enviro before and it's simple compared to etching. You would have no problems.

Really nice and clean build.

I like the paint job. Combined with the graphics, it gives it that Tibetan etched in stone look.

LaceSensor

sick etch and nice layout

I always love the distressed look, whether intended or not. Nice work!
