Oh, I just found out what's coming to town in November, and I'll go:

I think they want to have something like the Montreal Guitar Show over here, too. No factory guitars, just handmade stuff, with a focus on the small European builders.

So, I went to that show today, saw about 110 of the best luthiers and their work. Very impressive stuff. Some guitars I thought looked better than others, of course, but the ideas and the craftsmanship were all ... and so on.
I liked that there were no amplfiers in the hall, guitars could only be played or listened to in special booths to keep the noise level in the hall down.
And I especially liked the idea behind http://www.leonardo-guitar-research.com/

See their website and also the one of Premier Guitar in the coming days, I'm sure there'll be lots of photos etc., some first ones can be seen here: http://www.gitarrebass.musikmachen.de/Holy-Grail-Guitar-Show/News
