Hi

If you get someone responding to any classified ads you have posted, especially at TGP or ILFUZZ etc from someone claiming to be Eugen from headfi, be extremely careful.

This is the genuine Eugen

The scammer will send you the classifieds link as evidence of him being genuine.
The emails I received were from hifieugenius@gmail.com

I was quite close to getting scammed until I asked for more pics of the unit being offered, and they then stupidly sent me more pics, of the same model of pedal, but clearly not the actual same one.

The scam is quite clever, as the email looks legit, links to the profile name he uses for feedback, and the real guy is Romanian, so you can excuse partially the quality of the communications.

Just be careful, y'all

Thanks for sharing!  I'm glad you have a real sharp eye, especially for lovetones, and were able to spot a potential scam going on.

So did you email him back and let him know that these aren't the same pedal?

I wrote back "I changed my mind, good luck with the scam...cough, sorry, "sale" "

Good

It blows me away how many scams I see on Craigslist. Like Beautiful Les Paul Customs for $400

You can buy Les Paul customs from china with serial numbers, logo and everything for around $235.00 dollars. I hear some of the manufacturers put out a good guitar. That's probably what it could be... who knows?

Problem is, these ads on Craigslist leave out the part of fake, made in China, etc.
