Raulduke, Did you have to change anything to the circuit to use the VTL5C3 or is it a direct replacement of the LDR & LED?

The finish is hammerite. Applied with sponge by hand (no spray can). This gives best hammer effect in my experience.

Label/decal is a clear polyester label material I use (which I nab from work....  ). They kind of 'meld' to the enclosure and paint work when lacquered (I use enamel lacquer).

Tim Lerch (one of my favourite guitarist at the time) has a demo of a Magnatron vibrato and it sounds just awesome

That's a great finish - do you use a primer, multiple coats, or other pre-preparation to get the effect of the beaten metal?
