Cupcake Sustain Pot - Dead Zone :(

Hi everyone,
Just finished up the cupcake compressor and i was giving it a trial run.  It pretty much seems to be working properly, but I have one question.

I wired the trimpot as an external control to be able to adjust the sustain (its a 10k B pot).  But once you hit around 1 o'clock, it turns into a dead zone.  It just muffles down to pretty much nothing.

Should you be able to use the full range?  Am I doing something wrong?

That trim pot works to bias the circuit. It isn't very useful as an external pot. That experience your having is how its supposed to work.

Agreed.  As I recall there was a pretty small range on my cupcake's trimmer where the effect actually worked.  The rest of its travel was either splatty or yielded no effect at all.  You want to set the trimmer where you get the most compression before the noise starts getting bad.
It's really a set it & forget it type of thing.
