Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

Wow. This Envirotex seems to be catching. Bloody nice finishing!

But I have to ask, how long have you been sitting on the Porkbarrel PCB for it to be one of the old ones? ;) :) :)

Dude, these look good!!! I keep putting off the whole Envirotex thing (another set of stuff that I 'need'...........) but looking at these (and JimiLee's) makes me reconsider..... Nice work, how do you like that Porkbarrel? Mine is still my favourite DIY pedal so far.

I'm the same way. I've actually gone out and bought the stuff but haven't manned up enough to try it. Then I see a build like this... When it turns out right it's gorgeous.

Hey Blueshawk, You built the Current lover too didn't you. Which one of the flangers do you prefer?

Did you build the PB differently to use with the bass or is it standard guitar build?

Really solid builds.  The tops look nice and shiny.  :-)

Thanks a ton y'all.

Ok, let me cover the questions in this post.
- I build the PB for guitar and didn't do anything out of the ordinary in the process.
- With respect to how long I had the PB in all honesty, and I know you guys can relate, I don't know  :o  I tried to think who, what and where I got this board and just can't! I'm thinking a trade and or I swapped PCB's at one time with someone. I'll be 50 soon. God help me when I'll be 60 soon.
- This is my first chorus and I have to say I didn't realize how much I would like it. I just hadn't gotten around to building one and had never played one. But this will stay on the board for sure. It just makes everything sound so cool IMHO.
- Bill I did build the Current Lover and have every intention of doing an A/B with the Collosalas but have not had time to date. I'm the kind of guy, being a bedroom hacker, who sort of has to put 2 pedals together to really hear what is doing what vs what. Can't wait though. I haven't used the CL in about 3 months so I can't really give you a good answer to your question.
- Finally with respect to the Envirotex I've built about 50 pedals now and I've used it on all but 2 so upper 40's. I have a huuuuuuge tutorial over at BYOC filled with as many don'ts and do's as there is a learning curve. As you guys know Juan and Maurader do the top to perfection and I think my link is buried in theirs here too. It's not a perfect medium, doing the whole pedal, but then neither is lacquer or at least it wasn't for me. But, once you put on a board the top is what gets abused I figure and that is where you get a very thick coat.

Anyhoo, I'd be happy to help with any questions if you want to get started to see if it is for you.

Here is another shiny one but with a different enclosure. http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=11855.0
