Slambox in a 1590a

Yes,

I know these are simple boards but this was my first 1590a (1090NS from Small Bear actually) enclosure build and second decal job so I was pleased with the results. My drilling was a little off so it was a tight fit between the switch and one of the jacks but it all worked out with some minor jack bending. 

Silver hammertone paint, Rat Shack knob, and laser waterslide decals.

It's two coats of Rust-o-leum hammered silver and three coats of brushed on gloss poly, baked in a toaster oven between coats.

Still new to finishing, so it's trial and error but this one turned out good.

your etching looks REALLY good, by the way. it's rare to see lines that sharp on home etched stuff.

Sand.
1st coat primer.
Sand.
2nd coat Primer.
3rd coat Primer.
Sand.
1st coat colour.
2nd coat colour
Wet sand.
3rd coat colour
4th coat colour
1st coat clear
2nd coat clear
3rd coat clear
4th coat clear
wet sand
5th coat clear
Polish.

If I'm lazy and get prepainted enclosures, I just take it and clear coat 2-5 times.

Oh, and that Slambox is slammin.

Killer job indeed!  I used that exact same knob on mine!    Yours is set off really well against the hammertone paint job.

Yeah I only had solid core wire so it was a little stiff to cram in there but it worked out great. These small enclosures are both cool and frustrating at the same time. One small slip of the drill bit and you are in trouble as far as getting things to fit.

Yeah--I will say on Jacob's behalf that even with the 3 thick unsanded coats of poly I put on, it's still not very thick and would probably scrape off with a fair amount of use. You can tell it's on there but, if you really wanted a more pro level of thickness and shine, it probably would need what Jacob does. And if you look at his pedals you can tell he goes to those lengths. They look really great.
