2n175_ transistors - experience? Opinions?

Hi everyone,

I've come across some cool-looking transistors at work, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what they are or what they might be good for. They start with 2n175_, and I think I remember seeing 5 or 7 for the last of the four digits. They kind of look like the 2n130_ types I've been liking lately, but they have gold leads.

It really depends what they are 2N175, 2N1755 & 2N1757 are all germanium but different parts.

hFe & leakage are gunna be the most important.

1755 are fairly low hFe (well were according to the datasheet, depends on what you get) might just be okay for a TB MkII but probably not alot else unless you make a darlington with them.

1757 are a bit higher but not much, probably okay for a few fuzzes though.

175 give 75hFe on the datasheet, probably the most useful all rounder.

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing. That is one amazing gift you've received there. Let me know if any of the four digit types in the 2n1700s are mentioned and look promising. I'll just write down a list of what I see in our lab on Friday...it's too many to remember.
