NPN Rangemaster-ish

I have a nice CV7112 and thought I'd use it for an NPN Rangemaster.  I'll apologize up fron if it's been done to death but can you recommend the perfect NPN rangemaster for this one?  There are so many versions of this simple circuit I know someone's found the perfect one.  I know it's lazy to ask and not experiment myself but I want to box it up right away.  Thanks!
