Hi dudes,

I have built a tap tempo tremelo from music PCB, but my question is just a general one really..

The LED that indicates the tempo, doesn't really 'flash' properly, it doesn't really go off quick enough to give a proper flash..

Could one of you guys point me towards some good LEDs that will do the job properly. Is it just fast cycle LED? Or does a specific colour/type/brand do the job best?

thanks

There's a massive thread on this on DIYSB. You might get a more thorough answer there. However, the short answer is: There's not a whole lot that can be done about this. The rate indicator LED is part of the TAPFLO circuitry, and there's nothing, say, limiting its drain.

You'll find that the flash changes based on the wave form, however. The external LED's flashing is identical to the tremolo part.

You could also try just using a brighter LED. Superbright blue or somesuch.
