First, I want to say hello to everyone, I am new on this forum, and also new in building effect pedals.  ;D

I made a darkside pedal on veroboard, i had problem etching board so I found verified version of darkside on veroboard, but I have problem - sustain is too low. I think the color of tone is good, potentiometers works, but when I turn sustain pot on maximum, I get only light overdrive, less gain then I get on Tubescreamer  ;D

I checked everything and it seems ok, so I hope someone can help me with some idea?

Thanks.  :)

I checked one more time, and all values match the layout, there is just differences in resistors watage - some resistors are 1W instead of 1/4, but I think that is not the problem

There didn't notice any other problem, so I hope someone can help me to find out what's wrong...  :-\

You might get more help if you post a link to the vero you used.

Unfortunately it may still be hard if there is not schematic accompanying the vero

You are right, I forgot to post a link to vero layout, here it is:

I think it is made by the same schematic as PCB layout.

Whats the forward voltage of the diodes?

I've found with ones of less than 250mV, the Darkside had very little output, but had a nice tone.  The ones I used at around 320mV were much more usable.

Thanks for suggestion, I will check that.  :)

I forgot to mention, here are substitutions I use:

-Two pots are linear instead of log
-Two resistor are 1,2K instead of 1K

I don't think this could make any difference, but I didn't use socket for transistors and diodes, so I afraid heat could damage them?
