Low Rider 1uF cap question

I ordered a bunch of electrolytic 1uF caps instead of the 1uF film caps on accident. Would I be able to substitute the polarized electrolytic caps for the film for C3, C14 and C18? If so would there be an effect on tone? Would the orientation of the electrolytic cap matter?

Yes you can use the caps.  No there shouldn't be appreciable change in tone. Yes, you must orient them with the positive lead to the higher potential in the circuit, so check the schematic before soldering them in :)

Thanks for the response. :] I'm a bit confused about determining the pad with the higher potential, since the capacitors shown in the schematic are non polarized.

You wanna orient the + lead towards the path of higher voltage.

Yea sorry I had a look at the project doc and saw that the layout doesn't show traces.  I got the meter out and checked for you on my lowrider...

C3 Positive lead on the bottom
C14 positive lead to the left
C18 positive lead to the left

I might ask Brian if he has a layout diagram with traces to swap into the project doc :)
Good luck!

Thanks, I will add a layout image with the traces later today. Just an oversight on my part.

In reference to the schematic:

C3 + side towards R4.
C14 + side to pin1 of IC1A
C18 + side toward pin14 of IC5.
