Slow Loris and a Clean Blend (the vero add-on.)
I really like to use a rat with my archtop when I do jazz gigs, but like to be able to blend some clean back in help preserve some clarity and stop the thing from howling too much.
I used the simple Buff and Blend circuit from Beavis, Clipping options are leds, none and a pair of BS170 configured as clippers. (my favorite)

fantastic job, man!

I just finished one of these today too! mine was built to the specs of the build doc. Curious about those BS170s, are they the quietest/most compressed?--like the 1N914s are?

I'd like to see the vero layout of the clean blend...the only one I've seen uses an opamp
Sweet etching and photography too!

Thanks!
Yes, the JFET clippers are similar in level and feel to si diodes.
Just tie the D & S legs together as one leg and G as the other, then mount them in opposite directions as you would diodes.

It's a pretty simple blend circuit, and probably isn't as good as others for some applications, but is small and works well enough here for me.
Here's my vero:

Very nice 'mageddon.

I imagine that clean blend would be pretty cool to use in a bass overdrive pedal (increasing the in and out caps to suit of course)?
