Current Lover volume pot

I'm still waiting for the 100k Log pot for my Current Lover build, so I'm wondering: If I solder a resistor (say, 47k) from the connection for tab 1 to tab 2 and one from tab 3 to tab 2, wouldn't that function as a "pot" in a fixed position? This way I could test and bias the thing, without having the actual pot.

Any thoughts on this?
