How do I know the power consumption of my DIY pedals?

How do I test my DIY pedals for power consumption, so I don't overload my power supply outputs?

Hey man... to measure current you need to break the circuit and insert your Ammeter (Digital Multi Meter set to measure A) in series.  If you try and measure current in parallel you could damage your meter and your pedal.

The easiest way to do this would be to make an purpose built power extension cable that goes between the power supply and your pedal.  Just make a normal power lead with the 2.1mm jack on either end etc, then cut one of the conductors and put your meter in series there.
