Can i do a mod to the speed knob to control tempo by a switch.
I understand it wont be as simple as doing the booster/tremolo mod, but can something like this be possible?

I am just wondering.

Wondering that and having the EAT not working yet...(transistors issues)

Yes, you can use any tap tempo PIC with a 100K digital pot to do tap tempo. Presumably you'd want something with soft takeover so you could just use a speed knob.

The question is why you would want to do this. The EA tremolo's speed range is fairly limited, and you could easily try to tap in something that doesn't work. You'd also have to fine tune the LFO to not conk out at the max or minimum on the digital pot, which can be very frustrating work.

I suggest just using this chip ... there are multiple circuits out there to use it (including the appropriately named Tap Tempo Tremolo), it's as cheap as the digital pot + tap tempo chip alone, and it has not only a perfect sine wave (which even the EA doesn't do) but every other waveform and control you could want on a tremolo.
