Kraken (mutron envelope) output is too loud, best way to make a volume control?

Hey gang, I made a Kraken, sounds good, but I'm getting like a +9db bump when I activate it.

I stuck a resistor on the line out from the board to the switch to lower the output level, but I'm wondering if there's a more advanced way to chill it out?

How to do upload images on mobile? I don't get it. I swear I did it once. Anyway.
I *think this will work, to add an output volume control.
Also, I *think* you will need to make the link in red but someone check my work.
I would experiment with pot value and taper between 5k and 25k.
I don't see an easy way to alter the volume otherwise unless you just want to tack a voltage divider on the end, which we're doing here. just variable.

thanks jwin615, I was trying to do the same as you drew but it wasn't working until I put it in a different spot.
(apparently the signal path branches out right there and I kept jumping in at a point that was ineffective.)

*I edited the post because I figured out I was misreading the layout and got it working.

but I'm still wondering if there's a better way to address this unwanted signal boost?

You have feedback loops feeding other opamps so I wouldn't want to mess with the opamps.
You could attenuated the input, but for noise, you're better off attenuating the output.

Getting the pads correct at the output is critical. Hopefully my layout is right. It was pretty late and been a long week so wasn't working with a full tank.

I'm nowhere near my old Kraken build but I don't recall having any vol bump.  Are you sure all the part values are correct?  I know, dumb question but worth a second look to make sure.
