I read somewhere here at the forum that pin1 of the lt1054 should not be connected.
Is that correct?
Btw. I'm using the latest version of the road rage.

Yes, that regulator is 1A rated, so will be fine.

You need to make sure that pin 1 of the LT1054 is not connected. I used a socket and cut pin 1 completely off it before soldering it in so that there was a gap between the socket and the board.

If you use the cheap "leaf" pin sockets, you can actually remove the pin entirely by pulling it out of the plastic. It comes right out without cutting.
