Knob Size (sorry)!

Hi there!
About to start my first proper build and I've got all my parts ready to order but I can't work out which knobs to buy.  The pots I've got are Alpha 16mm. Will these http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PPP&Product_Code=10017&Category_Code=KNB

The different measurement scales are throwing me a bit and I hoped someone could point me in the right direction?

They'll fit a .25" shaft no problem. 16mm refers to the diameter of the pot body.

mp, one word of caution on the chicken head knobs. I don't know your enclosure size and layout but be aware those take up a good amount of real estate and you might end up not being able to use them, unless you are doing a one knob fuzz or something. Ask me how I know this 

The second pointer knob you posted typically work in most builds. Keep in mind if you are decaling and or labeling the pots, Drive, Gain etc... the size of the knob. There are some slimmer ones called Davies knobs that will darn near work on anything too. Many colors in those too.

Chicks are my favorite knobs and I use them when I can but I plan for it in advance.

Thanks guys. Good call on the size of the chicken heads.  I hadn't accounted for that at all.  I'm building the Krankosaurus which has 4 knobs so I need something smaller. Schoolboy error! I've found these which are smaller-

Those knobs list a 6mm shaft size which is .236 inches so they will probably work for 1/4 inch shaft, but i havent used them before so i'm not sure.  I would give them a try.  They look pretty cool.

I've yet to find a knob that will not work on a 16mm lug pot shaft, but I always buy from "pedal friendly" joints so maybe I'm just lucky. They look like they will work though.

I've just emailed the company selling them and they said that they wont fit  but recommended that I swap the pots for this type http://www.banzaimusic.com/Alpha-16mm-split-shaft-100k-lin.html as they will fit onto the split shaft.  I've asked to exchange them and they're happy to do that 

My question now is how do I connect wires to this kind of pot as the lugs don't have the loops that the other kind of pot did? Confused!

Mp, I'll let someone answer who has actually used those pots. I would be more inclinded to change out your knobs before I changed out the pots to be honest. If it was me I would loop a piece of wire around each pot, solder it on there and use some heat shrink on each lug of the pot. But again, I have not used those types before so maybe someone who has will answer your question.

Have you looked at Mammoth's or Smallbear's places for knobs? Between the 2 of them surely there are some you would like and will work just fine on a regular 16mm.

I've looked at smallbear and it's great but as I'm based in the UK ordering from lots of different places gets very costly when having to pay for overseas shipping. An enclosure from PPP is $29.50 
Banzai (where I'm getting the pots from) is based in Europe so it makes sense to try and get as much as I can from there.
I like the soldering a loop on idea, thanks for that. It looks like there are small holes at the pot end of the lugs. Maybe I can put the wires into them and solder them in place?

I use those types of pots all the time.  I just bend the pins upward similar to how the pots with solder lugs are bent and then i bend a small piece of wire around and solder it in.  I actually do this part last.  I solder the wire to the pcb first and then cut to length and install it with the pots already in the enclosure.  You dont have to do it that way, but it works for me.
