What Xmas is about (and maybe life in general)

Mum always enjoys setting up for entertaining people -- nice tablecloths, lacey doilies, the works. (Dad made a lot of wooden storage containers for the glasses/plates etc, to keep in the shed when she isn't entertaining. The folding trestle-tables fortunately can just be put in there!) She also enjoys being around a lot of friends and catching up. So Christmas is hog heaven for her, in that regard.

Dad is more like me -- happier with only a couple of close friends and maybe some nice takeaway, nothing fancy.
