Both gents are super friendly and will build anything you want at very reasonable prices.  I wouldn't use anything else now.  Apart from my PRS every other guitar I own has pickups from one of those guys in it.

I don't understand. Why do you need a clone of a pickup you can just buy off the shelf? Or did SD change them at some point?

A lot of the price of the pick up is the name on it. I was hoping there was a diy-er that maybe I could support. So, basically a little and a little community support. I think SD makes them the same specs the same way.
