Axis fuzz pot question

Trying to use up bastard parts. Does anyone know if i stuck a 1kc pot in place of the standard 2kb fuzz pot on an Axis fuzz, would i lose the upper or lower gain range? I'm ok to suck it and see, but any smarts would be helpful.

From what I can tell, you'd be getting the last half of the gain, but I would think that the taper of your pot would give you very little of whatever low gain settings you'd have left.
