I suppose you could do it with trimmers, but once it's right, it's right, so I then remove the pot and fit a resistor instead. Trimmers on mk2's bother me for some reason ;) Yeah on the vero I linked the two we adjust are the 8K2 and 100K that are in line vertically.

This looks like the modern version of the component tester that we use (ours is red and was cheaper than that. But it doesn't look like they make that model any more). VERY useful thing!

EDIT: Yep, Cleggy has confirmed that's the same as ours, just blue.

BUT, bear in mind getting a good set of transistors is a bit of a 'mare. It's also really good to have a reference mk2 bender that already sounds awesome to back-to-back it with. They're a sod to get really good. We've even told the bloke we built this one that if he sells it, we'll buy it back from him ;) Because it's the only one we've built that gets close to our reference bender (it's nailed on).

I guess that's why Smallbear sell specially matched transistor sets :)

Excellent as always, John.

The leg on the electro annoys me greatly as it's bent for no reason whatsoever as it could have gone into the hole next to it... Makes me itch.
