Off topic, but your post made me wonder...  How do you like KiCad?  After spending so much time in eagle I am hesitant to take the plunge but the board size and layer limitation even for the cheap paid license is so restricting.

I tried it for about 30 seconds a couple years ago. So I really don't have an valid opinion on KiCAD.  ;D

Ha, well that is super helpful  ;)

Maybe one of these days I'll give it a try.

I can tell you that at the time, I thought it was clunky and non-intuitive. But so is Eagle, so I think it comes down to what you learn first or what is the first one to "click" mentally.

I've been meaning to get really get into DipTrace, but when I have some specific job to do with a layout, I always end up using Eagle because I already know how to use it and I have tons of customizations to my library.

Momentum is clutch.

I need to give KiCad a try myself.  I need to be able to export in Gerber format
