Radio Static Pedal (on purpose)

A friend recently asked me to build a custom pedal which deliberately picks up radio static interferance and can be blended in with the original guitar signal to taste. Any easy way to do this? I'm thinking of putting a retractable antenna on the pedal itself.

How about building something like this from the Beavis site?



There are no build instructions for it though and I'm not competent enough to design a circuit from scratch unfortunately.

Depends on what kind of radio signal you want to pick up. Amplitude modulated (AM) signals can be picked up with antenna and diode detector circuit pretty easily, frequency modulated (FM) signals are lot more harder to to receive.

That picture looks lot like a single transistor amplifier (fuzz) with antenna attached to input. Probably picks up AM signals pretty easily.
