Hey guys, working on a Lowrider build and I'm having trouble sourcing LM324 IC.  Am I right to think an TL074 would work in its place?  If not any suggestions?

Works in a phaser, throw it in, see what happens.

Looks like Mouser has them: http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Texas-Instruments/LM324AN/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtYFXwiBRPs08BE3I8g7KkJ

Very reliable in my experience and quick to ship.

Retroamplis has them too: http://www.retroamplis.com/epages/62070367.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=8056799

I've had good luck with his parts too, but the wait for standard shipping to Canada is pretty painful.  My most recent order arrived today, 4 weeks after he posted it.

Das Musikding has them too: http://www.musikding.de/LM324N_1.  I haven't ordered from them before.  Maybe others have?

Looks like Mammoth usually has them, but currently out of stock: http://www.mammothelectronics.com/LM324N-p/400-1050.htm.  I've found them pretty good about answering emails re: restocking.

I don't know enough about circuits/electronics to suggest alternates; I'm pretty much a slave to the BOM's.

Don't over think it. Read the data sheets and compare them. You may not know how to read the data sheet, but I bet you can tell if they look alike or not.

yeah a tl074 might work fine in the LR.  you can't always sub one for a 324 though, because the 074 draws more current, and could lead to unwanted noise in certain applications.

btw, pretty much any place you shop for parts online should have lm324's, with the possible exception of pedalpartsplus.  try searching for lm324n.
