Arcadiator woes

I have an arcadiator that has an overactive LFO. Regardless of knob settings, with the lfo on, as a note trails off and fuzzes out, it seems to get stuck, almost like a stutter, and ticks rapidly. The LFO led blinks with the stutter. When it happens, if I adjust the trimpot, it will stop, but it occurs at any usable setting of the trimpot. I cant figure out how to make it happen. I tried switching the ICs and trimpot out, but no difference.
I build, and once in a while I might sell, pedals as "Vertigo Effects".

No substitutions, solder joints look good. Values look good. Since this picture was taken, I replaced the ribbon from stomp to pcb with separate wiring and insulated audio lines.  I have also replaced the trimpot with the more typical 3362.

Not sure if it helps, but thought id mention... I noticed that when I press on the two 1M resistors (the carbon film ones between IC 3 and 1), it has an affect on the problem. I dont know if it is from the pressure from being pushed, or from my finger shorting something.
