So in my mail today a bubble envelope shows up with... 2 2n5457 from mammoth electronics. I think the last time I ordered those from the, probably a year ago, they forgot to send the 2 they had ordered. I seem to recall them replacing them soon after so I guess its 2 free 2n5457s for me! Too bad it wasn't a random 1590BB arriving in the mail box...

That's funny. I bet the postage plus packing costs 5 times what two little 2n5457 does

Especially since they sent 2 separate shipments of 2 2n5457s about a year apart... They must lose so much money on logistics issues...

Last year I got a second shipment of a pedal kit and some enclosures. I asked what to do with it and they said throw it away.  :o

I once received a duplicate shipment of an enclosure months after receiving the original.
Mammoth isnt working very well. Their new manager called me about a month ago, requesting feedback. I gave it to him, too. They just cant get it quite together, and they take way too long to process orders. I only use them as a last resort. Too bad, because they have a great selection and a good site.
I build, and once in a while I might sell, pedals as "Vertigo Effects".

The last three orders I've placed with them have had at least one thing wrong. Nothing major but since I order per build (for now) it's frustrating.

First one they sent me a knob with numbers instead of the pointer version of the same style.

Second one they sent me a 10M resistor instead of a 3M9 I ordered. Bcalla hooked me up to help out with this one :)

Then the last one I had ordered a 4M7 resistor and got a 3M9 (lol). They put a single resistor in a big bubble envelope to make it right.

Seems like they have trouble getting the right parts in envelopes. They've always made it right with me but sometimes their response time is a bit slow.

Yeah, they must spend a lot trying to fix errors.  I wonder how much they would save if they got more orders right.  It sounds like they are understaffed.  Reduced costs could allow them to address that.
