sub diode in a wolfshirt?

Hi guys......anyone know if I can substitute a 1n914 for the 1n34a the wolfshirt build I'm about to tackle?

You can, but it may not sound like other wolfshirts...

In other words socket it, and look for a 1n34a diode or equivalent when you can.
