Strange mangler issue

My Manger (new model) works fine.
I have my Loophole V1 running a test signal through it and it sounds like I expect it should.
Fuzz knob works, volume knob works, and biasing back and forth provides the expected outcome.

Then I unplug from the Loophole and plug in with a guitar (I've tried active and passive).
Fuzz knob becomes useless, until that last little bit of turn where it totally cuts out the throughput.
Biasing does nothing.
Volume works, but its behavior changes so that it can hardly reach unity even when it's pegged out.

The only thing that's changing is the input; going from Loophole to any instrument.

Have any of you had this sort of thing happen?
It's a first for me.

Just to be sure: your Mangler works fine with an instrument, then you use the Loophole, switch back to instrument and it behaves weirdly? That's how I read your description...either way: how odd...

No.
Mangler works fine anytime the Loophole serves as input device.
Mangler does not work anytime guitar serves as input device.

Ah, clear...sounds a bit like an impedance mismatch?

Maybe a grounding issue to the power supply. Are you using a power supply with the Mangler?
I had a weird issue with the ground in one tap of my PS that had a similar set of issues to what you describe. In my case, if I had a second pedal plugged in, that connection between PS ground and the audio ground completed the missing connection for the first pedal and everything worked fine. If I only had a pedal plugged in to the first tap, nothing worked.

Maybe the Loophole is completing the ground connection needed and allowing the pedal to work. When the loophole isn't there the supply and audio float relative to each other and the pedal can't work.
