Faultline seems too low-gain

Ok, so this is a total NUG question and on an old thread to boot, but it seems the most appropriate place if anyone is still listening.

I have a pedal power supply that will provide up to 12 v regulated & isolated.  Would it work to give this build a 12 v input and would that benefit it over the 9v without doing something like the Road Rage to get it up to the full 18v?
