I'm a big fan of GFS pickups.  They're not Lollars and really don't claim to be but EVERYTHING I've put them in sounds really cool.  To be fair, I have installed Lollars on a buddy's guitar and they were just stupid great.  BUT, they were so far out of my budget that I couldn't really see getting them, short of winning the lottery.  I've installed a ton of the Liverpool Retro (filter) Trons and they never cease to amaze.

I have three different sets of Dale Allen pickups and they are all great. These are my favorite

I too have D Allen pickups. I have the 60s R&Bs. LOVE the tone of them.

^^ yours truly.

thanks for the reminders ... I get D. Allen's updates on facebook, but haven't tested any of his pickups. The clips sound great, and he reminds me of one of my favorite independent winders, Mike Gray, of Chubtone, who unfortunately is no longer making pickups, despite being a GREAT builder.
