I'm personally not a fan because their sizes are all over the place.  I prefer caps with standard lead spacing.  As the capacitance increases, they get rather huge as well.

I agree with dave! You can 100 panasonic ecqv caps in those values for a similar (cheaper) price at Mouser and they are all standard (5mm) spacing. They sell any value from 10n up to 2.2uF and they are great. Price does increase when you get to the higher values but that is super common.

Here is a link:

Just avoid buying part numbers that end with "W" (those have crimped leads and they are a pain in the butt)...

I also agree. I started building with greenies due to doing vero layouts. When I started to do PCB based builds I moved to box caps and panasonic films all 5mm lead spacing.

I bought am assortment of greenies when I started building about 5 years ago.  I'm still trying to find opportunities to fit some of them in pedals.  If I did more with vero I could probably design some layouts to accommodate.  But on a PCB, there is no room for a 100n greenie.  It's about the size of your thumb...

I agree with Dave and Cody as well. I have a bunch of "greenies" on my bench stock. They do increase in size as the value increases (68nf-220nf don't fit in the 5mm spacing most fabbed boards use). I do however use them for some vero applications and mod testing. If you want some get them from Tayda (http://www.taydaelectronics.com/capacitors/polyester-mylar-film-capacitors.html) they are way cheaper. If your gonna spend $8 on caps get some EPCOS box film or Panasonic film.

Echoing this, greenies ftw on vero for large row spans.
Otherwise, not so much due to size.

I have a greenie box kit I got on ebay someplace and it just gathers dust since I stopped doing vero builds.
