Hey Guys,
im a owner of a Spectraflex cable since 20 years without problem. Ok, very few gigs as a bass player and recently using for guitar with no problems.
Im checking all the updates reagarding new brands, rates, reviews, etc..
Im trying to get a 4 -5 meter cable in Germany and want to ask you guys the leave around if you have any suggestion. Importing from US is relatively expensive. As far as i understood (and i dont want to start a huge discussion on this here) is that most of the good quality cables have the similar capacitance, resistance (at same lenght), etc.. However the difference is in how they are built. The spectraflex i have (and im not advertising here!) is the only long cable i own and i found pretty decent for my purposes. i like the nylon braided cable which makes sturdy and easy to move around..
So, any suggestions of European sources with a good price range (not more than 40 euros for a 5 m) would be great!!!
thanks a lot mates!

For 4/5 meter cable and the best relationship between quality and price I always recommend Sommer Cable, it is sturdy and has low capacitance and the jacks are much better quality than the neutrick ones I used before.

I personally use this one: http://www.thomann.de/es/sommer_cable_the_spirit_xxl_instr_45.htm

but this seems to be even better quality (I'll order one next time): http://www.thomann.de/es/sommer_cable_the_spirit_xxl_instr_45.htm

and this is a good idea if you have to tour and need some back-up cable: http://www.thomann.de/es/sommer_cable_tricone_erste_hilfe_set_sw.htm

This is one of the best brands I've ever used IMO.

You can do it fractionally cheaper yourself getting the VanDamme cable and Nutrik jacks from Rapid/Farnell (can't remember which stocks it, but one does). But in all honesty his prices are so good it just saves hassle to get them from him made up.

+1 on the Sommer cable from Thomann, it is fantastic.
The only known cure in the world for GAS is death.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Kolumbus24.com has bulk Sommer Spirit xxl for 2.20 euro/meter. It's great cable.

Tried them both (Klotz AC110 and Sommer Spirit XXL), prefer the Sommer. It's more transparent (not just the jacket!),less bulky and way more flexible. No experience with the 59er though.

Am I missing something or are these two actually the same?  ???

Sorry... copy-paste problem, with the "probably better quality" one I was refering to this one: http://www.thomann.de/es/sommer_cable_richard_kruspe_rkgv_0300_rt.htm

Best cable I have ever used is the Fender white coily cable. As to the patch cables, I use whatever I can find, most of the time its complete junk.

Also, anything to these silent plugs?

http://www.thomann.de/be/sommer_cable_the_spirit_xxl_ins_6_silent.htm
http://www.neutrik.com/en/audio/plugs-and-jacks/silentplug/np2x-au-silent

never used silent plugs (or needed them) and the price step is noticeable, plus the hicon jacks (hicon belongs to sommer cable, it's like their jack section) are sturdier than the neutrick ones.

You can always buy some Lavacable and two plugs from here http://www.guitareffectspedals.pl/en/lava-kabel-do-montazu-30cm.html.
I bought mine from Crush the Button in Holland, but, it is closed now.
