painting enclosures: what methods/paints are you using?

I've been using spray paint with some ok results but I'd like to do something else.

My paint jobs usually involve the aim of just making a good looking finish coat - I don't paint graphics or anything like that. I sometimes add water-slides.

Any paints and processes you'd recommend?

SEM autobody paint. Kind of expensive but way way better than Krylon or others like it.

I agree that good quality auto paint is a step up from home center spray cans.  With that said, I use home center spray cans and I've gotten results I'm very pleased with.  I use Krylon or Rustoleum mostly.  It's a matter of technique and getting familiar with the product you're using because different products/packaging spray on differently.  Also, I don't plan to abandon spray paint but I just did my first Envirotex finish and I expect to use it as the final finish from now on instead of spray clear.

Golden Artists Acrylics with airbrush or paintbrush (and/or anything else at all that can be used to transfer/move paint around.)

Createx Airbrush paint and AutoAir, i believe the same manufacturer.

All waterborne and can use indoors the year 'round.

To airbrush the Goldens they should be diluted with their airbrush medium or similar product. They have all kinds of different mediums and gels to mix with the paints to achieve different effects.

The above two have become hard to source around here so any new purchases have been for the Golden line of materials which are far more adaptable to different techniques.
