Picked up an Eventide Pitch Factor recently.  I traded a couple of my 1590a builds for it.

So far, it's pretty cool.  There's a lot of configurability to it; I am still scratching the surface.

With an expression pedal, would it be a better version of the Whammy?

I like the Whammy, but it's such a one trick pony most of the time... Octave effects aren't super useful for the musical genres I play though...

Well, it seems to be more capable than a Whammy, but I could see that actually working against you in a live setting.  Most folks I know with any of the Eventide stuff spend a good chunk of time laying out their presets and they often use a midi switcher to go between patches.

Reminds me of my old rack gear days a bit.

If it's anything like the time factor you are in for a treat!  Nice pedal.
