Thanks Jacob, that's about the best reference I've heard.  I still have my old Lado Super Falcon (1977) and the original Super Distortion pickups literally rotted out of it and got replaced with Duncans.  I kept the phase switch intact to keep it stock but have never used.  I need to rethink it and do a series/parallel on each pickup.
