3PRR - wiring question

Quick question on the wiring diagram on pg. 5 of the 3PRR build doc. It appears that the +9v input on the board is connected to the dc jack lug that would normally be used for batteries. Should it actually be the center one, and then you could wire a battery up with the other lug and the input jack ring if you wanted to?
