Another Rust Driver (caution: naughty language)

Rust Driver with Juansolo mods.  Also did a gain mod.  Basically just replaced the 470k resistor with a 1meg pot.   I socketed the caps on the switch and may still play around with them.  One setting (I think the 1nF) is blanket over the speaker dark.  Otherwise sounds fantastic!

I etched this box a couple months ago to house a fuzz.  I dug the graphic, but never really got the fuzz dialed to my liking.  The Rust Driver is a keeper, though

Yeah the 1n cap only works when the effect is dimed. The switch (which was on the 2nd Gen Rust Driver, but not on the first) is absolutely right (we had one in for repair), but where it sounds good depends entirely on where the vol is set. But yeah, anywhere else it's like throwing a quilt over the speaker.

I think it's the 4n7 cap that throws the blanket over the cab.

The caps are a low pass filter dependent on the position of the volume pot.  So it's a volume and tone control in one.

Thanks guys! I definitely recommend building one of these. Low parts count and sounds really good. Socket the caps on the switch if you build one, though.

Thanks!  I just use toner transfer and ferric like I do with copper clad.  Hold it face down in the ferric, let it cook for a bit, rinse in water and repeat until you're happy with the depth of the etch.  I use spent ferric from previous etches and it seems to work ok for enclosures, although it leaves some residue on the enclosure.  I like that nasty, grimy look, though
