Hello fellow forumites!

I got a Boss DS-1 from a friend. It sounds complete crap (it does distort for sure, but is extremely noisy and the overall sound is... bad), so i opened it up. Maybe to repair, maybe just to re-use the box'n'jacks. Time will tell:)

The first thing i notice lookin at the PCB, is portions of dried glue(?)/dirt(?)/see pics below. My first guess is leaky electrolytic caps, but as far as i remember leaky caps looks a bit different than this. Can it be glue? I havent seen this in boxes before, so i would be glad if someone could lead me right:)

What is that mess?

Cheers

They couldn't find unicorn tears, so they went with unicorn snot.

The only known cure in the world for GAS is death.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

It's just glue, nothing to worry about. Helps secure big awkward parts like electrolytic caps to the PCB.

thanx for clearing it out, Chris!
