I figured that something was fishy with the transistors, that's why I flipped 'em. (I just figured I'd connect the collector to V+ and I'd be fine).

Anyway, I wired up a new switch using this meathod: http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/thoughts/wiring-up-a-1590b/ and it fires up just fine.

I've hit my head against the wall too many times today, I need a beer...

Nope. That's why I'm trying a new switch as we speak. Keep your fingers crossed!

I etched and put together the tube screamer O.S.P. (green bean) from this comment/threadhttp://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=1661.msg36328#msg36328. It's all wired up but there's no voltage or anything flowing through the board, the LED won't light, knobs don't affect anything, etc. The switch functions as far as allowing signal through and cutting it off but the effect is not active at all. Here's my album of the board and switch http://imgur.com/a/MeHWo. I know the solder is sloppy, i've tried switching so many components in an attempt to make the board power up. I've gone over all values and did find one wrong resistor, and I've also switched the direction of the transistors with no effect. I've used a multimeter on the whole board to look for any ground bridges or continuity errors but came up with nothin. I'm stuck at this point.

Schematic: Tube Screamer O.S.P.
Mods: none
Substitutions: BC550 for 2n5088 (pin out exactly the same)
