I really want a BOSS ODB-3. Got the schematic but can't find a board or layout to use. Trying to get something together but a little more complicated than I am used to.

Update:

Board printed and drilled, just started populating. Made some modifications to the layout thanks to the tip above so caps sit a little more comfortably.

Just as I was reading this my parts from Mammoth arrived to my desk, or most of them, and of course I have the same caps that you mentioned! I am doing the printed board too so maybe I can edit things and give myself some more space.

Waiting on my tubes from SmallBear, which should be here tonight, and then Mouser to send the transformer and a couple resistors, which are on backorder  

Can't wait to piece this thing together. Going to build a cabinet with one 10" crate speaker from an old amp, hoping that will be a nice little practice amp to keep me off the marshall when the wife is home

Am getting ready to attempt this build and just wondered if anyone had completed one and had any tips for me?

Yup, confirmed the vero. I have to take readings tonight for the other thread but it is working to the ear.

Only switch I had around lol, could probably handle some serious amperage!

2k2 is 2,2k. The k in the middle is very often used as a comma

He got this one for ya! ...or 2.2K for us on the other side of the pond!

As far as the schematic question, a switch looks like one of these most often...


Also, the pot is labeled in there all the way on the right which is the representation of the output jack, notice the 2 connections points shown as opposed to the 3 on the input jack drawn on the opposite side.

I used inkjet for the first time the other day and didn't like that I had to spray with clear coat before applying. Is it true this step is not required when using laser printers?

Where do you guys buy your paper? I ordered some off ebay last and it was a little pricey but best I could find at the time. Any tips?

As far as the jacks, if you plan on using a battery as well as a ac adapter port you will want to use one mono and one stereo 1/4 jack, stereo for input, mono for output.

I don't see the need for a switch on this schematic.

Last two orders have come with 10K pots with not nut or washer! I am perturbed! 

No issues otherwise. Even had one item on backorder this time around and it came into stock in a days time and was shipped right away.

It's a tantalum cap in his build.

Are you missing the 4.7cap at the far right? Should be two there, on at the comp 1&2 line and a second at the sw2 line.

I am building this project too right now, going to wire and test tonight so I will post back with my results.

Tagboard effects is a great vero site, with all the info you need mate, have a look, Matt.

I second this! I love that site for vero layouts. I have built a few from there already. I would suggest building an audio probe for testing these suckers if you run into trouble, can be a life saver. Start with something small for your first just to get the hang of it before moving on to something complicated.
