Typically this is caused by a bad power supply or wiring the jack to the wrong "+" the on the dc jack.

Thanks for your quick reply, but I don't think that is the problem. I have wired it on the other + lugs, and I have tried multiple power supplies. Is there anything else?

Open Discussion / Power Problem!
March 09, 2013, 11:10:59 PM
So I am a beginner. I am working on mounting the BYOC confidence boost into a pedal, and I am having issues with power. It works perfectly with the battery plugged up, but not with the DC jack. (I don't really need the battery, not enough room in the enclosure) So I switched the wires from the positive battery, to the positive pcb and leds. Only the LEDs worked. I have ran everything through the multimeter, and I noticed that one of the positive leads from the DC jack doesn't pull up any current. I am using a Boss style jack with a 2.1mm inner core. I am convinced I have tried it all. Any suggestions?

I am using the schematic at the very bottom of the page:  http://www.buildyourownclone.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=7366&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Thanks!  ;D

Hey guys, I am building a BYOC confidence boost. It seems like the Booster is giving distortion, and because I am mainly doing this for the Buffer, I would like to take out the boost. Is that possible, or would it leave an open circuit somewhere? Thanks!

*NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT MY ACTUAL BOARD, JUST SOME PICTURES I FOUND ONLINE*
Here is a picture of the front of the PCB:  http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s191/alucarDuo/IMG_0386.jpg

And the back with connections: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s191/alucarDuo/IMG_0378.jpg

Lastly the wiring diagram: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/JoeIbanez/ConfidenceBooster.jpg

Thanks masters!  ::)  This would be a huge help!

General Questions / Buffer Pedal Resistor Values

Yes, I am a complete noob  ::). What is the difference in sound if I use a 1m or a 2m2 resistor in this schematic? http://www.singlecoil.com/tb-strip/images/buffer.gif

Thanks

Before we go any further, you need to tell us what type of amp you are using. Also note if it is a combo (amp and speaker in one, or a head and separate speaker cab)

I am wanting to do this on my Vox AC30 Combo. Thanks!

Typically you plug your speaker out of your amp into the attenuator, then connect the attenuator to the speaker.

Where exactly is the speaker output?

So I'm wanting to build an attentor pedal that basically lets you play at an overdriven tube amp sound but at a low volume. I have no output or master volume on my tube combo amp. How do I connect the circuit to the amp?

So I personally go with 22 or 24 awg. What about you guys?
