But why only the first repeat is distorted? I pulled the humbucker down, so it's output is now lower. But it still distorts!) Neck pickup with higher output does not distort!))) Very strange ???

I measure 7.69v DC at pin7 of NE570.
P.S. Remember Scruffie, we were discussing the triple delay time mod? Unfortunately, the third MN3005 I got was fake one, so I had no chance to try this(

Hi guys, I'm having a strange problem. I've built an aquaboy2012 with two MN3005s running at 15v. Spent a lot of time biasing the bbds, but the problem remains. When i stroke the strings pretty hard, first repeat sounds like it's clipped, next ones are good. Problem appears when the bridge pickup is on (Seymour Duncan JB4)  But when i switch to the neck (1 coil of Carvin c22) the problem is gone. Seems like it's "headroom" problem, maybe something wrong with compander NE570, any ideas?
Thank you guys!

First, thank you very much for help! Please take a look at my drawing :-\
Not sure about the 5k6 resistors marked red (do we need them?)   I supposed to get 1...2 gain. One more question. Why do we use inverting amplifier type?

Me again) Look what I found on the web https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89725007/Yamaha1010delay.jpg  It's an analog delay unit with 4 mn3005s.
Here it's clock generator
The clock pulse is generated by the BA617 chip, so what happens next? What is the purpose of TR11 and TR12? As far as I understand, splitted signal then goes  to the TC4049 IC,  and one part of it gets "phase reversed"?
I dont have clear understanding of what 4049 does. Clock pulse of MN3101 has a square waveform, right? As I understand, 4049's output will be something like that    How can I be sure that 4049's output will be enough for 3005's input capacity?

Thank you for reply! So I should build a buffer for a clock signal with double opamp, right? And a makeup gain stage  like this

Hi folks! I've built Aquaboy 2012 and I love it so much. Unexpectedly I got 2 more MN3005s (haha) So, I started thinkin' of triple delay time mod, usin' Brian's schematics of double delay mod as a reference.
I want you folks to take a look at what I got to say am I right. Or maybe I'm terribly wrong :-[

guys, workin' mn3007 behaves exactly THE SAME way like mn3005 does. Can not find any mistakes in soldering. Only thing is  I replaced electrolythic 1uf caps with non-polar film ones. Scope shows signal frequency at 10 khz and higer as I adjust CLOCK trimmer :'(

Guys, here is some new information. The  sound I hear at the output pins of 3005 chip  (3 and 4) is the same high-pitched sound that mn3101 generates sensitive to the clock trimmer and DELAY pot, but a little more quiet. Is it helpful? :)
#10
Thank you guys! I'll tell you about my experiments with 3007  a week later because I'm far from my place :)
#11
I'm sure everything is soldered correctly, but I really can't get no delayed output(  I'll try to find working thing to test my BBD. Also I have workin' MN3007, what do you think about usin' it instead of 3005 to make sure there is no other problems?
#12
Yes, I hear the noise at pins 3 and 4. On pins 2 and 6 I hear very high pitched sound comin' from mn3101, adjustable by CLOCK trimmer. I can not measure an exact frequency value but I guess it's about 9-10Khz.
Pickdropper, - same thing, bias trimmer makes no effect. Did your chips look like that?
What do you think guys? Is it my mistake or it's better to ask for replacement?
P.S. guys sorry for my poor english ::)

sure, here are the photos

it's really hard to see the letters on it

Got an 3005 chip from Polida, and it looks very strange (like fake) Proper voltage is applied and i hear an audio signal at the leg 7 too, but at the legs 3 and 4 i only hear noise. Is it really fake chip or it could be trouble with 3101 or something else?
I'm also going to post some photos of my mn3005 chip if necessary
