Open Discussion / ASK: Doombutter to Fuzzbutter
March 13, 2015, 10:04:15 AM
Greetings,

I have a doombuter on vero that i love it so much. And i love the fuzz sound of it. Looking back to the schematic, i have an idea to make a fuzz from that. i think it simple enough to built but honestly, i have no knowledge to substitute the parts if the PT23099 is omitted from the schematic.

Can someone help me?

Thanks a lot before.
Best regards from Indonesia... :D

edited/update:

here's my schem. i combine this from nick greers sucker punch and doombutter.

can someone help me correct the schem if i'm wrong?

thanks.

I'm gonna make some cabsim tonite. tonepad's, simple sim, old ROG cabsim and fender cabsim from GGG. Need some different sound for layering. IMHO, better to do that with one dirtbox and many cabsim than many dirtbox with one cabsim. :D

solved. the output jack was grounded.

gonna check this tonite. the jacks. you right... i make this pedal always on, so i connect it directly from input to board, without a switch, fyi. :)

Tech Help - Projects Page / Sea Urchin Dead connections?
February 24, 2014, 09:00:20 PM
Dear all,

Recently, i built a sea urchin delay and yes, i have an issue. I have no sound on that. :( . It's very very strange for me because some signal passed in some path, but doesn't in another. i check the voltage an it's quite normal like this:

TL072CN:
1: 4.22
2: 4.22
3: 4.22
4: 0
5: 4.22
6: 4.22
7: 4.22
8: 8.33

78L05
in   : 9.23
gnd : 0
out : 5.02

PT 2399
1: 5.02
2: 2.54
3: 0 (jumpered with pin 4)
4: 0
5: 2.54
6: 2.54
7: 0.41
8: 0.66
9 to 16: 2.54

I attached a picture of my probing work also. I really don't know what happened since i only follow the instructions from this forum, and have no electronics background. :(.

check means there's a sound. before R6, the signal with a delay comes out perfectly, but gone after it. :(

thanks and regards.

whoa, that's great njkke. but i develop an inverted 18 volt power on it. It slightly different. My previous boneyard use the 1st version, but runs on +18v and -18v. I add an 18v inverter in it. i haven't posted the picts on photobucket. gonna post it soon. :D

Dear guys,

Does anyone here know about XLR combo, i mean use it for diy purpose? I have a plan to make a DI Box and want to try this stuff. Any Clue?

Thanks and regards, Desta.

Dunno this' gonna help or not, but i've built a buffer-splitter-cabsim-master out pedal in a 1590B. It's Paul Stevenson buffer/splitter. Output 1 goes directly to pots, and the other goes to tonepad's speaker simulator, which i add an output pots after it. My goal is having two outputs, to amp and to keyboard amp or active speaker (fyi; we practice in a small rented studio that not always have a good amp, so i need to anticipate this). Actually, i have a plan to add a delay circuit before all of this board, so i can get a "finishing box" contains of delay, buffer, splitter, and cabsim. It will be done in couple weeks. :D.

the demo of this box (w/o delay added): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hMi1CeaWSU

thats a boneyard v.1 connected to this box.
