It's doable but I question how much power you are going to get from a pedal power output which usually gives up to ~400mA. iPad charging may suck to 2A depending on the model.

Hmm.. Hadn't considered that. Thanks for the headsup!

Hey guys,

I want to use a looping app on my iPad with my pedalboard running through a USB interface. I have a CCK that will let me connect my interface to my iPad via USB, but I need to run a powered USB hub between the two to power the interface.

My idea is to skip the powered USB hub and hack together a splitter cable that sends data from the interface to the iPad, but takes 5V power from my power supply (after the 9V is regulated to 5V) and sends it to both the interface and the iPad, powering the interface and keeping the iPad charged at the same time.

Can I just splice this together or are there any dangers in sending 5V this way to my iPad and interface from my pedalboard's power supply?

I want to use multiple relays so I can use a momentary switch to control switching between Gain and Vol pots in a drive pedal, as sort of a 2nd channel switch with an LED indicator

Can I just use a voltage regulator to send 5V to one side of the coils on the relays and use a single momentary stomp to send the other ends to ground?

I've done the calculations and it would cost roughly $250 to put one together with footswitches and an enclosure, which is what they are going for used at Guitar Center.

What would you guys say, DIY spirit or buy used?

I'm guessing that it would be cheaper to buy a new M9 with a discount code than to buy the rest of the parts and assemble that board. 9 footswitches, a display, a control board and an enclosure, plus any connectors, would add up.

I bought a new one last year for $229 shipped.

WHAAAA?!?!?! I can never find good deals on these things...

Open Discussion / Line 6 M9 PCBs on ebay?!?!?!

Looking for a used M9 on ebay and stumbled upon these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Line-6-50-02-0294-Main-PCB-for-M9-/291416575132?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43d9c80c9c

Does anyone have an M9 or gut pics to know if I could literally build an M9 with these boards and some footswitches and LEDs?

I want to split my humbuckers on my Tele. It's dual HB with one volume and tone for the entire guitar. Any one have a diagram for this?

So my Timmy clone picks up a radio station as the gain knob turns up. This is with the lid on. Without the lid, the radio station isn't picked up as strongly, but makes a hum whenever an audio signal is passed through the circuit (hum when strumming, no hum when muting guitar).

Here's a gut shot.

The layout is from tagboard and I've built it verbatim.

Help please :(

You could always use resistors on the pot.

Thanks! Totally forgot about this

This schematic calls for a 47kB Wet Level pot. I'm doubling the circuit to make it stereo and the 9mm dual gang pot I want to use only come in 100kB. How important is the value of this pot?

Crazy? Yep. That's an ambitious layout. Looks like you're doing a great job with it, though!

Phew thanks! I must admit, though, that I cheated with quite a few vias.

Thanks to JMK's tutorials, I Finley got started working on Eagle with MB's library. I actually haven't done a lot of pcb designing before. I'm having so much fun!

This is a stereo version of Fred Brigg's mixer that he used for a Behringer rehouse, with board mounted neutrik jacks on the back side of the board.

Am I crazy?

I've always wondered.. How cost efficient is powder coating to spray paint? How much more durable is it?
