Open Discussion / Potentiometer conversion help.
June 29, 2012, 09:07:23 PM
im building this tubescreamer clone and i want a toggle switch between 2 pots. for example, 100k and 1M, but i dont want to have 2 pots on the pedal for drive, i just want one..  im not totally sure which ones i want to switch between yet though.
what size resistor would i solder across lugs 1 and 3 to make a 1M into a 100k, 250K or a 500K. do i need multiple resistors or will just one do it?

thanks for your time fellow diy'ers!!!!!!

Open Discussion / noob having voltage problems
May 02, 2012, 01:35:46 AM
hi,
i have 2 questions.
first: i am attempting to redesign a schematic for an amp and make it into a pedal.  the voltage going into the overdrive portion says its   +15v   and -15v     but i want to be able to use it with my regular 9v power supply.   so how would i convert it from +15v/-15v to  +9v/-9v  ?
or does it matter at all because the schematic is set up for 15v+/- so if i only ever use 9v would it work fine and not blow anything up?

second which maybe should be the first question:
how do i take the 9v power supply and change it into +9v  & -9v?
what kinds of resistors/capacitors would i need and how should i lay them out?

thanks for your time  =)

hey,
i want to build a deadringer, but i have a few problems, mainly capacitors.
some of the capacitors on the parts list are listed like;
22n, 10p, 100n, 220n, 10n.
i've never had any trouble finding parts before. like the 51pF or 100uF.
i've been looking on smallbear and mouser but none of those parts come up.
is there something im missing?

where/how can i find these capacitors?
any and all help is much appreciated.
thanks!!!
